Walk template

Why use a template?

  1. It makes describing your walk really easy - you don’t have to worry about what information to provide, the headings will prompt answers from you.

  2. If information is clear and standardised, it helps parents to know quickly if a walk is suitable for them and their baby.

How to use this template:

  1. Copy and paste the headings into your notes on your phone, or on a word doc.

  2. Think about the walk you recorded - write short and simple descriptions under each heading.

  3. Copy the completed description, and paste into the first comment on your walk or ‘tour’ recording on Komoot. That’s it!

Here’s a completed example, and a blank set of headings are below.


Description: A lovely baby-carrying and pushchair-friendly walk in the beautiful Victorian Spa Town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea which marks the start of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coastline. Walk down through the woods to the Italian gardens before following the river along to the beach for coffee/ice cream/fish and chips! 

Starting point (postcode or What Three Words reference): The bottom of Marske Mill Lane at the start of the footpath, use postcode TS12 1HR (look for a house called Chards). 

Getting there: Accessible via public transport or driving.

Parking: Parking is on the road and is free.

Walk type (baby-carrying, pushchair, toddler): Pushchair and baby-carrying friendly. Little walkers who are comfortable walking. 

Length (distance and approx. time): Two miles, expect to be walking for 40 minutes each way.

Terrain (what’s the ground like?): A mixture of accessible paved, gravel and forest paths. 

Refreshments: Lots of food and drink options available at the beach.

Toilets: Public toilets at the beach. 

Baby changing: Facilities at the beach.

Dogs welcome: Yes
