Get confident with pelvic health and getting back outside after having a baby.
Having a baby is a huge life change, but it also means a big change to your body too. Getting strong again after having a baby takes time, but investing time in our pelvic health means that we can continue to enjoy the things we love, and get outside with our little ones without having to worry.
Starting walking outdoors again after having a baby can feel a bit daunting - lots of parents wonder if walking is safe, what they can do to strengthen their pelvic health as they prepare to start being more active again, and how they can look after their pelvic and abdominal health while they're actually out on a walk.
We've partnered with the amazing pelvic physiotherapist and educator Clare Bourne, to create an evening especially for our Blaze Trails community.
In this workshop, Clare will provide you with knowledge and reassurance around how to look after your postpartum body as you start walking again, including pushing or carrying your baby while outdoors.
The workshop will cover:
introducing key messages around pelvic health
how walking can support pelvic health and why it's a good, gentle -reintroduction into exercise/activity
how to walk safely in order to protect and support pelvic and wider health (both when babywearing and when pushing pushchairs)
specific information relating to postnatal health after both vaginal and c-section delivery
tips and exercises for promoting pelvic health (that attendees can take away into their everyday life)
why seeing a pelvic physio in person might be beneficial
time for questions from the audience
