Outdoors First Aid for Babies and Children

Learn how to deal with things like cuts, concussion and hypothermia while you're out adventuring with kids.

A huge part of feeling empowered to get outdoors is about knowing what to do if you or your child has an accident or falls ill while out exploring.

We've partnered with the wonderful Sammy from Happy Hearts First Aid who has designed a special online evening workshop for our Blaze Trails community.

What the training will cover:

- CPR
- Drowning
- Recovery positions
- Hypothermia
- Fractures, cuts and splinters
- Tick removal
- Head injuries
- Choking

What to bring along:

Please bring along a pen and some paper, and download the app what3words on your phone (if you haven't already!). If it is possible, joining the Zoom from your computer or laptop (and having your phone to use freely) would be preferred. Also, a soft teddy or cushion can be helpful when practicing CPR and choking techniques.

About Sammy and Happy Hearts First Aid:

"I am a mum of three and first aid trainer, and believe that first aid training should be fun and engaging. We will hopefully have some fun along the way, and leave you feeling really confident in what to do incase of a medical emergency while walking.

I also share fear-free first aid tips on Instagram @happyheartsfirstaid if you want to give me a follow!"

Tickets

The training costs only £19.  This training session is great value compared to most baby first aid courses - it has been subsidised by Blaze Trails so we can support more parents to increase their knowledge and confidence to get outdoors. Price is per computer, so if you have a partner, family member or friend you can take part together for the price of one ticket.

Attendee numbers are limited to 25 people so that everyone gets a chance to engage and ask questions.

We look forward to seeing you there!
